On January 18, 2022, members of the newly formed Virginia Beach City Workers Union, UE Local 111 rallied, with support of faith and community allies, at the city council meeting demanding collective bargaining. The day after MLK holiday, workers reckoned back to Dr. King’s true legacy standing with striking sanitation workers in Memphis.
